Fast X

Fast X. I have been looking forward to this movie ever since it was announced. I was actually more hyped for this movie than Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3... only because I knew James Gunn was going to make me cry a bunch. (I brought tissues to the theater - great movie) The Fast and Furious movies are just chaotic, crazy fun with the whole family. I love these movies. I love that you can drag a safe through a city without fucking up the roads. I love that you can survive a deadly fall as long as you land on the hood of a car. I love airplane runways.

This movie does deliver on the insanity. Dom Toretto really can do anything if he’s behind the wheel of a car. Cipher only needs to touch an electronic before she has complete control of it. She sent your browser history to your parents after twisting 2 wires on the air conditioner. Well, she needed something to do in this movie other than get the shit beat out of her. And that’s my major problem with this movie. So many characters with not a lot to do.

We do a lot of traveling in this movie but not a whole lot of driving. Characters are just talking to each other. Brie Larson is in this movie but she didn’t really do anything? She showed up at the end in a wack-ass fit (cool shoes tho) and then was done? Jacob and little B’s scenes had me asleep in my seat until they fell out of an airplane. Sidenote: why is little B black? This is Elena’s kid right? What happened to the curly locks from F9?

Whatever. Jason Momoa was excellent. He’s like the weird Joker of the Fast and Furious franchise that dresses like a genie. I liked his banter with his subordinates/slaves/hostages/corpses and thought his character was a nice addition to the cast. Can’t wait to see more of him.

Overall, this movie was fun. There are just issues with this movie clearly being a “part one” and having no real conclusion. I give this a 7/10. Fast 11 better be a 10... what a dumbass sentence.

Also, little B totally killed some people.
